Condensation FAQ
Is It Rising Damp Or Condensation?
Condensation is regularly mistaken for rising damp, however an experienced surveyor should be able to tell the difference very quickly.
Where condensation is a problem, very often mould growth occurs, expecially in areas with less ventilation (behind washing machines, wardrobes, unused bedrooms etc). If the water is from the ground (rising damp) mould would not grow. This is very helpful to know when diagnosing damp problems, eliminating one type straight away.
